Why doesn’t the world talk about depression? Going to a psychiatrist is considered to be a hilarious act, but depression is real. When God made us, he gave us a heart and a mind. We feel a lot and sadness consumes us. As a human being, it is not uncommon to be experiencing signs of depression.

Depression is a word that is used by several people but only a real depressed soul knows how it feels. Do you feel ANYTHING at all? It is possible that you may feel nothing because the world seems empty and there is no motivation to live or dream. How to get out of depression? Sometimes you miss the presence of a loved one or you feel your life is not productive. No matter what the reason is, living with depression is unpleasant and it breaks your heart in several pieces.
Even though the heart is made with flesh and blood, but all the love songs talk about how it resembles a mirror. When your heart breaks, there is no sound but you feel the pain.
It is time to get out of the depressed zone and embrace life. We know it is easier said than done, but one can always try to cope with it.
How to cope with depression and get out of it?
It is REAL and you need to get out of it soon. You cannot just snap out of it and there will be efforts involved. Additionally, taking the initial step may be difficult but it is not an impossible task.
You may feel light and happy for few hours, but that is a good start. Coping with depression and coming out of it takes time. We are not robots as we have emotions and it takes time to get accustomed to the new changes in your life.

Find a Listener
When you are depressed, it is good to speak to someone you trust. Bottling up your feelings is a big NO! It is possible that bottled up feelings may burst out and you might just end your life. Before taking any step, find a listener who would not judge you and listen to your problem.
LET IT GO
You must cry and scream! Go for trekking, climb a mountain and just scream till you feel light. When we are depressed, we feel angry and hurt. You might even drench the pillow with your tears. So, just let the emotions flow and cry/scream till you feel better.
Why are you sitting at home and crying? Make a good playlist and go out for a jog or do HIIT. Exercising helps in improving the overall mood of an individual. It released the much-needed feel-good endorphins. When you are working out, you are not thinking of your worries. Join a zumba class or go for a jog! You will focus on your breathing and the calories you are burning. Get a swimming pool membership and learn to swim. If you are already a swimmer, you can do multiple laps and forget about your worries.
Do What You Love
Do not spend all your time eating ice cream or pizzas. When you are depressed, you do not feel like taking care of your body. This is NOT worth it! You must find some hobby and pursue it. Learn a new dance form or do yoga. There are social dancing classes where you can meet new people. Socializing will help because there are new energies that you can interact with. Join a salsa or bachata class! You don’t even need a partner for this.
Visit a Pet Shelter/Adopt
Do you know that having a pet at home could give a boost your mental health? Once a pooch enters your life, they give you unconditional love. They wag their tails and love you instantly! Get a puppy once you feel you are ready to take care of another life. Dogs understand the emotions of human beings! When you are sad, they will sit with you and try to give their hand for support. They may not understand what you are going through, but they will look at you and know that their human being is not feeling good.
If you are not ready to take the responsibility of a dog, visit a pet shelter and pet animals. Animals can bring great joy into your life! They do not have any intention to hurt you.
